The PM is responsible for ensuring multiple, concurrent, multi-discipline construction job orders are executed within customer project deadlines and budgets. The projects are executed in a Firm Fixed Price environment; consist of major and minor renovation projects; ground up builds, mechanical system upgrades, and are dynamic in nature.
Responsibilities
- Participates in estimation, post-award kick-off, partnering, pre-construction, design development, and coordination meetings during the conceptual and preconstruction phases.
- Ensures construction begins only after the Designer of Record (DOR) finalizes the design, and all submittals are approved as required.
- Manages a team within the Project Management Office, including safety, scheduling, estimating, project control, quality, and site supervision.
- Oversees all project phases, from identification and capture to estimating, scheduling, and safe construction execution, including final walk-throughs and as-built drawings.
- Engages subcontractors to make financial and execution decisions to meet contract specifications.
- Manages multiple projects, ensuring cost control and timely delivery within budgets and schedules.
- Prepares and manages scope, estimates, and resource-loaded schedules for contract modifications.
- Maintains short-term and long-term project schedules, including an overall master schedule.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Primavera.
- Coordinates multi-discipline operations involving union and non-union craftsmen and subcontractors.
- Prioritizes safety and ensures the safe execution of work across multiple locations.
- Ensures quality assurance and delivery, working alongside quality control and safety officers.
- Develops and maintains customer relationships, facilitating meetings with government stakeholders.
- Performs other duties to support growth in the Washington DC Metro Area.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Construction, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or PMP certification; work experience may be considered.
- Desired: specialty inspection training and licenses.
- Minimum 8 years managing construction projects, with at least 5 years in federal projects or job order contracts.
- Deep knowledge of federal contracts and safety standards.
- Ability to work on active construction sites and communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage 3-5 active projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in English and understanding of MEP trades and design documents.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of federal and state construction codes and safety regulations.
- Certifications in OSHA 30-hour, USACE QCM, CRP, First Aid, or ability to obtain.
- Experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
- Software skills including MS Word, Excel, Autodesk, MS Project/Primavera, Revit, estimating tools, Cognos, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Nitro, ProCore, USACE RMS, Kahua.
