City of Laredo is seeking a seasoned Construction Supervisor to oversee major city projects, supervise staff, monitor performance, and ensure day-to-day department operations align with city standards.

You will coordinate with other departments, review plans, inspect quality, manage cost estimates, and provide after-hours on-call support. A valid Texas driver license and seven years of construction/engineering experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in construction, engineering, or related field.
• Valid Texas Driver License; if applicant holds an out-of-state license, a Texas license must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.
• Oversees City construction projects; coordinates construction work with other City departments.
• Ensures construction activities are performed in compliance with plans and specifications to City standards and codes.
• Inspects construction projects and checks materials for quality of workmanship and conformance to specifications.
• Reviews specifications and scope of work for all projects.
• Reviews and verifies cost estimates submitted by contractors; reviews field progress reports; issues field change orders when necessary.
• Completes routine progress reports and maintains all records on construction project progress.
• Provide after hours on call coverage to respond to urgent issues, assess situation, coordinate appropriate interventions, and facilitate timely escalation to designated personnel as needed.
• Performs related work as required.
