Job summary

City of Laredo seeks a senior construction supervisor to oversee major projects, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with plans, codes, and quality standards. You will coordinate with city departments, review cost estimates, and maintain thorough project records.

Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required, with at least seven years in construction or related fields and a valid Texas driver's license. This is a full-time on-site role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least seven years of experience in construction, engineering, or related fields.
• Valid Texas Driver License; out-of-state license must be converted within 6 months of employment.
• Background check and certified school transcripts required for all applicants offered employment.
• Drug and alcohol testing is required for selected applicants.

Responsibilities

• Oversees, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; handles hiring, scheduling, and performance appraisals.
• Coordinates City construction projects with other departments and ensures compliance with plans and specs.
• Inspects projects and verifies workmanship against specifications and codes.
• Reviews specifications and scope of work; assesses cost estimates and field progress reports.
• Generates routine progress reports and maintains project records.
• Provides after-hours on-call coverage for urgent issues and escalations.
