Job summary

ewi Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead complex projects from pre-construction through to completion, overseeing scope, programme, budget, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations.

You will provide visible leadership, develop detailed plans, manage procurement and risks, coordinate design development and contractor appointments, monitor progress, manage variations, and ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience managing major construction projects across commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure or public works.
• Experience with procurement, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
• Professional accreditation or membership in a recognised industry body is advantageous.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. This role will oversee project scope, programme, budget, quality, health and safety, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and to the required standards. You will provide visible leadership across project teams, establish clear objectives, and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include developing and managing detailed project plans, budgets, procurement strategies, risk registers, and reporting processes. You will coordinate design development, approvals, tendering, contractor appointments, construction activities, commissioning, and handover. The successful candidate will monitor progress against agreed milestones, identify and resolve issues promptly, manage variations and commercial decisions, and ensure that all works comply with contractual, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements. You will also lead regular project meetings, review performance, maintain accurate documentation, and promote a collaborative, solutions-focused working environment.

Applicants should have substantial experience managing major construction projects, ideally across sectors such as commercial, residential, industrial, infrastructure, or public works. A relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline is preferred, together with strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, cost control, programming, and risk management. You will need excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional accreditation or membership of a recognised industry body would be advantageous. The role requires a proactive, commercially aware professional who can build strong relationships, challenge effectively, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
