We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of construction projects from initial planning through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all project activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards. Projects may involve multiple stakeholders, contractors and specialist suppliers, requiring strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining detailed project programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement plans; coordinating design, approvals, resources and construction activities; and monitoring progress against agreed milestones. You will manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers, chair project meetings, provide clear progress reports and resolve issues promptly. The role will also involve reviewing contracts, variations, payment applications and project documentation, while ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations, health and safety requirements, environmental standards and quality procedures.
Applicants should have proven experience managing construction projects, ideally from pre-construction through to handover, together with a strong understanding of construction methods, commercial controls, scheduling and contract administration. A relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, project management or a related discipline is desirable. You will be confident interpreting drawings, specifications and technical information, managing competing priorities and making informed decisions under pressure. Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder-management abilities are essential, as is a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks. Experience with project management software and standard reporting tools would be advantageous.
