Job summary

Redmond Construction, a leading general contractor in Chicago, seeks a Project Engineer II to support project delivery with ownership of coordination, procurement, and project processes. You will work closely with PMs, superintendents, and trade partners to maintain momentum and ensure timely execution.

The role emphasizes organized data management, risk awareness, and proactive problem solving, with opportunities to develop leadership across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial interior construction.
• Experience in preconstruction and estimating required.
• Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
• Proficient in RFIs, submittals, insurance and contract administration, and document coordination.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Empathetic, people-centered leadership and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple concurrent projects across 3–4 projects, depending on size and scope.
• Assist with set up of project folders and template documents; manage project documentation.
• Assist with permit process and permit corrections; set up new projects in Procore.
• Create electronic Superintendent Binder and OAC agendas; document all meetings (OAC, coordination, client kick-offs).
• Manage submittal and procurement process with oversight; maintain weekly logs.
• Develop accurate project schedules and ensure timely communication with partners.
