Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee complex projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

You will provide leadership to project teams, manage risks, coordinate with architects and engineers, and communicate with clients and stakeholders to align expectations and resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience.
• Experience in senior living, student housing, hospitality or lived-in product type construction desired.
• Experience leading and mentoring a team.
• Industry-related degree required; equivalent combination considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex construction projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time delivery and quality.
• Provide leadership and management direction to project teams; foster collaboration and monitor performance.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and monitor risk factors.
• Lead client and stakeholder communication, manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to align project goals.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules; manage resources.
• Prepare and manage project schedule and changes to meet deadlines.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Prepare monthly status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments.
• Manage budgets and forecast expenditures to stay within allocations.
• Implement quality control and QA programs; identify areas for improvement.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential scope reductions.
• Ensure safety plans are communicated to teams and subcontractors.
• Assist with preconstruction and buy-out processes; address constructability issues.
