Job summary

The Weitz Company in the United States is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the profitably managed administrative and field construction activities, ensuring quality standards while maintaining stakeholder relationships on assigned projects. This role may cover multiple medium-sized projects or a single large project.

Responsibilities include developing schedules, negotiating changes, overseeing safety, and mentoring staff, with a minimum of five years of PM experience and proficiency

Qualifications

• Industry-related college degree is required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with project management experience.
• Experience leading, teaching, developing and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project schedule; address long lead items; update plan and initiate changes as required.
• Negotiate and execute change orders, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Complete monthly project status reports, owner billings and financial risk assessments.
• Identify value engineering and scope reduction opportunities.
• Ensure safety plan is completed and communicated to project team and subs.
• Assist with preconstruction efforts and manage buy-out process.
• Detect constructability issues with project design.
• Understand contract terms, budgets, insurances, bonds and change orders; ensure adherence.
• Recommend staff development needs and assignments; support promotions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
