Job summary

Element Consulting, Inc. is seeking a senior project manager in Los Angeles to lead all phases from pre-construction through close-out on complex public and commercial projects.

You will review documents, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate with public agencies, and oversee contractor submittals and change orders to ensure compliance with District requirements. Salary depends on education and experience; opportunity to influence project delivery in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years full‑time paid professional experience in Construction and/or a combination of Project and Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Educational Facility Construction. Five (5) of the fifteen (15) years should include full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values of more than $20M.
• Twenty (20) years full‑time paid professional experience in Construction and/or a combination of Project and Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Educational Facility Construction. Fifteen (15) of the twenty (20) years should include full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values of more than $20M.
• Preferred (Not Required): Graduation from a recognized college or university with a degree in architecture, engineering or construction management.
• Preferred (Not Required): A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential from CMAA.

Responsibilities

• Directs pre-construction, bid, award, construction and close-out phases.
• Reviews pre-construction documents and submits comments to the Designer as necessary.
• Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to upper management regarding project status and progress.
• Coordinates with public agencies during pre-construction and construction to comply with off-site work requirements.
• Manages the project budget and schedule to meet quality standards and monitors budget monthly.
• Reviews contractor submittals, RFCs and change orders to ensure compliance and fair pricing.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or construction management

CCM credential substitute for the education requirement
