Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional liability underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting construction-related professional risks (architects/engineers, contractors, design-build firms).
• Ability to review construction contracts and professional services agreements.
• Ability to evaluate complex risks, claims experience, and pricing adequacy.
• Established relationships with retail or wholesale brokers in related lines.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio focused on Construction PI and miscellaneous professional liability.
• Evaluate annual and project-specific exposures, with primary and excess placements.
• Analyze insureds' professional services, delivery methods, and contractual obligations.
• Review contracts to assess indemnification, liability limits, and design responsibility.
• Assess pricing, attachment points, limits, and ER requirements.
• Develop underwriting recommendations and document risk rationale.
• Negotiate terms with brokers and maintain disciplined risk selection.
