Job summary

Traylor Bros., Inc. in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Lead Buyer to support a large EPC heavy civil project for a utilities client. You will develop, issue, and administer purchase orders and coordinate with engineering, construction, and suppliers to meet schedule and cost goals.

The role requires formal procurement experience on construction or EPC projects, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple procurement activities while maintaining documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field; degree preferred.
• Approximately 6–8 years of purchasing/procurement experience in construction, EPC, or infrastructure.
• Experience supporting procurement on construction/industrial/EPC projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and monitor project bidder lists.
• Coordinate with procurement, engineering, construction, and other project teams to identify purchasing requirements.
• Prepare, issue, and administer purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
• Ensure PO terms and conditions comply with project requirements and procurement procedures.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier quotations and proposals.
• Participate in supplier negotiations involving pricing, terms, delivery, and PO requirements.
• Support negotiation plans and documentation for approval.
• Communicate with suppliers to resolve commercial, schedule, quality, and documentation issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and PO status throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Administer changes and modifications to purchase orders.
• Support resolution of discrepancies, claims, and procurement issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and files.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
