Job summary

RK&K seeks a Senior Project Manager/Construction Manager to lead transportation and infrastructure projects in the Washington, DC metro region. You will guide projects from planning through construction, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met.

You will mentor staff, manage client relations, and support business development while coordinating with agencies and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. Strong leadership and PE/PMP credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in project and construction management, preferably in transportation and public infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing large, complex construction projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of contracts, project controls, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Experience with agencies such as VDOT, DDOT, WMATA, MWAA, and local counties; PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple construction and infrastructure projects simultaneously.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, public agencies, and stakeholders.
• Direct multidisciplinary project teams including construction managers, resident engineers, inspectors, and staff.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management activities.
• Monitor performance, resolve changes, claims, and field issues; lead meetings and communications.
• Manage project financials including forecasting, staffing, and invoicing.
