Job summary

Coakley & Williams Construction in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Government Construction Project Manager to lead base-building projects for the government sector, overseeing planning, execution, safety, quality, cost, contracts, procurement, and closeout with the project team.

You will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, manage budgets and schedules, and drive procurement while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Three years or more managing major commercial construction projects of $20M+.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, contracts, procurement, and closeout.
• Coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, safety, and quality control.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, BIM or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead large base-building construction projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Define objectives, assign responsibilities, and coordinate field and office activities.
• Develop and monitor schedules, identify risks, and implement recovery plans.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, change orders, and subcontractor payments.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and ensure contract compliance.
• Maintain project documentation, permits, submittals, and RFI processes.
• Communicate status, risks, and changes to owners and leadership.
• Support preconstruction, estimating, proposals, and client relations.
• Mentor project team members and support their development.
