Job summary

WHKS & Co is seeking a Construction Observer with 5+ years of experience to work on municipal, transportation, and other civil infrastructure projects in both field and office settings.

The role involves verifying contractor work, conducting field tests, preparing reports, maintaining inspection logs, and assisting with drawings and CADD drafting for transportation and municipal projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the construction or design of transportation and municipal projects.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Experience with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office products, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Verify the quality of the contractor’s work and compliance with the plans and specifications.
• Conduct field-required material testing.
• Prepare and document material reports, test results and material sources.
• Maintain daily logs of inspections and review discrepancies with the appropriate parties.
• Prepare and review pay applications.
• Assist the office staff with preparation of drawings, plan sets and other deliverables.
• Provide design and/or CADD drafting support to project engineers during planning, design, and construction of transportation and municipal related projects.
