Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Manager in Tempe, AZ. Lead a team of technicians and field staff, overseeing QA/QC, testing, and documentation across multiple construction projects.

Provide technical direction, mentorship, and client advisory services to ensure quality and compliance with Olsson standards. The role emphasizes staffing, process improvement, and building strong client relationships, with a focus on safety and technical excellence in construction materials

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; extensive field experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 10 years in construction-related field with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Preferred certifications include OSHA 30, ACI Grade I, NICET I/II, and ICC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and support staff on construction materials testing projects.
• Plan and oversee QA/QC processes for assignments to meet Olsson standards.
• Lead efforts to deploy resources for project workload and requirements.
• Serve as technical advisor to clients with guidance on construction-related challenges.
• Develop subject-matter expertise in core materials and testing areas.
• Provide senior-level review of inspection and testing activities across projects.
• Support project studies with field and lab testing, data gathering, and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve project quality.
• Supervise and develop less experienced staff; ensure safety on sites.
