Job summary

Olsson is seeking a qualified Quality Manager to lead construction materials testing projects across multiple sites. You will act as the onsite CSA Quality Manager, coordinating client expectations, managing QA/QC with contractors and third-party labs, and ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Project Owner’s Onsite CSA Quality Manager.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and contractors, clearly communicating project expectations and requirements.
  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance practices from the contractor and third-party testing agencies related to project scope.
  • Perform CSA related inspections as the Owner’s Representative.
  • Review inspection and testing reports to verify compliance with applicable codes and specifications.
  • Organize and lead regular project meetings to ensure alignment of expectations, performance, and deliverables.
  • Maintain project quality health tracking dashboard.
  • Provide weekly correspondence to the client outlining project progress and significant quality events.
  • Secure appropriate resources for all project phases to ensure timely and successful completion.

Job Description

Our Construction Materials Testing Team plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of materials used in infrastructure and building projects. From concrete and asphalt to soil and aggregates, our team provides essential testing and analysis that supports the structural integrity and compliance of construction efforts.

As a Quality Manager, you will lead and coordinate construction materials testing projects from initiation through completion. Your involvement in the full project life cycle will be crucial for ensuring timely completion of projects, in accordance with established scope, schedule, and budget. This position leads to the successful delivery of projects that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to meet our clients’ expectations. You will oversee laboratory and field-testing operations, manage client relationships, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support the professional development of your team.

Project Locations & Travel Requirements

There are currently project opportunities available in Southern Florida, Central Alabama, and Indiana. Candidates should be comfortable traveling and working onsite at assigned project locations on a daily basis.

New hires will complete onboarding and training through the Olsson office closest to their assigned project site. Candidates who are interested in opportunities outside of their home state and are not located near the project location may be eligible for a travel stipend to help offset lodging and travel expenses during the duration of the project assignment.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in the field, supporting projects in various locations, and gaining experience across multiple markets and project environments.

  • Excellent client service orientation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
