Job summary

NTH Consultants, Ltd. is seeking a materials testing technician to perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and asphalt at construction projects in Michigan while supporting field engineers and project managers.

The role requires a high school diploma and relevant field experience; certifications are a plus. The position offers a flexible-hybrid work environment, ESOP ownership, and opportunities for professional growth within a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred certifications include: ACI/MCA Concrete Testing Technician Level I or above; MDOT Density Technology Certification.
• Certifications such as Aggregate Sampling, HMA Sampling for Local Agencies, Floor Flatness Testing, ICC Special Inspections are a plus.
• Five or more years of field experience in construction including concrete, soils and pavement testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks and tests for construction materials testing and field observations under supervision.
• Complete and submit accurate Daily Field Reports.
• Assist engineering staff with field monitoring activities.
• Independently operate testing/monitoring equipment.
• Perform other tasks as necessary.
