Job summary

DIHO Consulting USA in Freeport, TX, seeks a Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring in accordance with project specifications. Candidates with ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications are preferred.

The role requires 3+ years in construction materials testing, reliable transportation, and willingness to work an on-call schedule with varied hours. A DISA drug screen and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing.
• Must have dependable transportation; a truck is preferred for incentive program.
• Must pass a DISA drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.
• TWIC card is preferred.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment.
• Capable of maintaining an on-call schedule and willing to work obscure hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests such as concrete testing (slump, air content, temp, unit weight, cylinders) and soil testing.
• Conduct soil compaction tests using sand cone or nuclear density gauge.
• Perform Proctor, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis and other soil classification tests.
• Perform asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling.
• Monitor piles during installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts.
• Produce timely and detailed field reports.
• Operate company vehicle safely and follow safety procedures.
• Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
• Build positive relationships with clients and arrive on site on time.
• Communicate with dispatch and onsite clients daily.
