Job summary

Tampa Bay Water is seeking a Construction Manager to lead the Construction Department and oversee capital and maintenance projects supporting our water infrastructure. You will establish and enforce construction management standards for in-house and outsourced work to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.

The role provides senior leadership to project managers and inspectors, collaborates with engineers, operations, member governments, and regulators, and may directly manage selected

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in construction management or related fields with oversight of projects and contractors.
• Two+ years supervising professional staff, workload planning and performance management.
• Experience with major projects valued from $1M to $10M, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of Construction Department staff; set expectations and coordinate work to meet Agency objectives.
• Oversee administration of construction contracts from approval to closeout; monitor performance and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain construction management procedures to ensure quality and compliance with policies and standards.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, change management, and contractor claims; review change orders.
• Coordinate with agencies, governments, and regulators; communicate project status and risks.
