Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Senior Construction Manager/Resident Engineer in Irvine or Carlsbad to lead CM services for water, infrastructure, and environmental programs. The role focuses on strategic leadership, client relationships, and delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.

You will drive CPM scheduling, risk management, safety, and quality, while mentoring team members and collaborating with Practice Leaders to expand CM capabilities in the West Pacific region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 12 years of relevant experience considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Active PE license or CCM preferred for senior CM/RE roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead CM: direct and oversee daily operations of the project team, providing strategic leadership.
• Manage client relations and act as primary CDM Smith contact for stakeholders.
• Coordinate CPM scheduling, risk management, claims, and quality control on large projects.
• Drive CM innovation, adopt new technologies, and improve delivery efficiency.
• Mentor staff and participate in recruitment to grow CM professionals.
• Ensure construction is executed per contract documents and safety standards.
