Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC is seeking an on-site Project Manager to lead direct project execution for reactor/finish facilities. You will coordinate activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure scope, cost, quality, and schedule adherence across multiple projects in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires strong experience in reading design drawings and complex validation protocols, with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, and cross-functional collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Building Science/Construction Management or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years proven construction management in a manufacturing facility, incl. capital projects > $10M.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, P&ID, HVAC and electrical systems.
• Understanding of URS, SAT, FAT and validation protocols.
• Direct management of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mentoring and development of teams; planning and reorganizing work.
• Change management experience.
• Directing contractors for mechanical, electrical, civil, structural construction in industrial settings.
• Self-motivated; able to work independently or in a team.
• Good judgment and leadership skills.
• Create and manage work plans and detailed schedules.
• Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders; cross-cultural collaboration.
• Building internal and external relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Adapt schedules and execute work plans.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify subcontractors for project execution.
• Develop initial project cost estimates and scheduling.
• Create daily activity project plans aligned with overall plans.
• Establish transparent communication and provide daily status.
• Negotiate project resources with management.
• Oversee construction site safety and quality; ensure secure site.
• Liaise on permitting and inspection requirements.
• Ensure construction documents follow contract documents and good practices.
• Provide technical support to project managers.
• Assist PMs in change order negotiations.
• Review progress of contractors’ schedules.
• Review weekly/monthly status and cost reports.
• Close and evaluate project execution.
• Follow safety and environmental requirements.
