Job summary

The State of Oklahoma seeks a Construction/Maintenance Technician III for Joseph Harp Correctional Center. This on-site role involves carpentry, plumbing, electrical, security devices, and basic equipment operation to maintain buildings and grounds. A strong background in building trades is required.

Five years in building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience is expected. Travel and a valid CDL may be required for some positions.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in one or more of the building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of building trades, safety practices and how to supervise work.
• Ability to follow instructions, supervise others and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erect structures and maintain fixtures and doors.
• Install, repair, or maintain plumbing fixtures and related equipment.
• Maintain and repair electrical lighting, switches, and small electrical components.
• Install and maintain locks and security devices; manage keys and access control.
• Construct or repair foundations, walls and walkways with brick, block or concrete.
• Operate and repair equipment used in maintenance and construction.
