Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Construction/Maintenance Technician III for the Jess Dunn Correctional Center. This on‑site, full‑time role handles building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and safety compliance.

Five years in building trades is required; CDL with endorsements may be needed. Expect hands-on duties across facilities, equipment operation, and security‑related tasks in a state correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in one or more of the building trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and ability to supervise the work of others.
• Possession of a valid Oklahoma Commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erect scaffolds, frames, or walls and repair fixtures.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and related equipment; service lines and waste disposal lines.
• Maintain and repair lighting, electrical components, and related systems not requiring a license; operate and service HVAC equipment.
• Install locks, replace tumblers and keys; use hand tools to change lock mechanisms and ensure security.
• Construct and repair foundations, walls, and other structures using bricks, blocks, and concrete.
• Operate and maintain construction equipment such as trucks, bulldozers, and forklifts.
