Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a full-time Senior Construction Inspector to join our Construction Management Team in Tennessee. The Inspector will lead site supervision, ensure QA/QC, review documents, and document daily activities for municipal water and wastewater projects.

Reporting to the Resident Engineer/Project Manager, this role may guide other inspectors and requires extensive field experience and adherence to safety guidelines, with local travel to site and client meetings in Tennessee.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 12 or more years' relevant experience, with extensive construction supervision experience, including management level.
• May have chartered professional status or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or be eligible for such status (EIT or PE).

Responsibilities

• Lead site supervision activity on construction projects, or an element of a complex project, managing a site supervision team and ensuring that work meets or exceeds client expectations.
• Maintain quality assurance requirements and approach and monitor code compliance issues.
• Inspect and determine deviations from general compliance with Contract Documents; clearly and professionally inform the contractor of required corrections.
• Review submittals and other construction documents and recommend technical solutions.
• Attend and participate in construction meetings, safety meetings/updates and project site coordination meetings.
• Monitor and document contractor resource utilization (labor, materials, and equipment) for field changes, and time and material work and assist with negotiation of basic field construction changes.
• Verify equipment and materials installation for payment purposes.
• Maintain Payment Quantity documentation.
• Perform mathematical calculations as necessary during inspection activities.
• While performing daily inspections, inspector will be required to ensure Arcadis' project safety guidelines are being met.
• Local travel will include to project site, client meetings, construction oversight, etc.
