Job summary

T&M Associates is seeking a Principal Construction Inspector based in any of our Middletown or Bloomfield office locations, covering projects within a one-hour travel radius. You will act as the Owner’s representative, ensuring work aligns with plans, specs, and regulations, while applying advanced inspection practices to complex assignments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive construction inspection experience on municipal or public works projects.
• PE license or NICET Levels I–III certifications preferred.
• Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
• Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
• Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
• Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
