Job summary

T&M Associates is seeking a Supervising Construction Inspector for our Bloomfield, NJ office, covering municipal and county infrastructure projects within a one-hour travel radius. This senior role acts as the Owner’s representative during construction and ensures work aligns with approved plans and regulations.

The candidate will apply advanced inspection practices, potentially guiding junior inspectors and project team members.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive construction inspection experience, preferably on municipal or public works projects.
• PE license or NICET Levels I–IV certifications preferred.
• Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects.
• Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Owner’s on-site representative during construction.
• Perform construction inspection and administration for roadway reconstruction, utility installations, water and sewer systems, concrete work, grading, drainage structures, and site development projects.
• Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Prepare and maintain daily field reports and inspection documentation.
• Identify and resolve field issues while coordinating with contractors, project managers, and municipal representatives.
• Provide guidance or oversight to junior inspectors or project team members when needed.
