Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector, UDOT CTP Level IV, for our Utah office to support projects with the Construction Management Team. You will read project plans, monitor roadway construction, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements on site.

This role requires a High School Diploma and a minimum of 11 years of construction experience, plus a valid Utah driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
• Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
• Prepare daily work reports; prepare and maintain documentation of contractor work performed, materials testing and traffic control based on construction plans and specifications; using Masterworks, spreadsheets, and other electronic or manual means
• Inspect road and bridge construction (based on UDOT Standards)
• For senior inspector positions, ability to supervise 3-4 people and experience with UDOT documentation
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bituminous Paving Experience


• Concrete Paving Experience


• Direct experience working for UDOT or another firm with UDOT exposure


• UDOT Masterworks Trained


• UDOT CTP Level IV


• ATTSA Traffic Control Certification, Sampling Reduction & Density (SRDTT), Moisture/Density Gauge Certification, ACI or CTT Concrete Certification or the ability to become certificated within 1 month of hire
