Job summary

WSP USA in Utah is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector (UDOT CTP Level IV) to join our Construction Management Team on Utah-based projects. You will read plans, monitor field construction for compliance, and document quantities and progress.

The ideal candidate has 11+ years of roadway construction experience, a valid Utah driver’s license, and the ability to supervise 3–4 teammates. You will ensure work aligns with project documents and UDOT standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required (minimum).
• 11 years of construction experience on roadway projects is required.
• Valid Utah driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
• Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials
• Prepare daily work reports and maintain documentation of contractor work
• Inspect road and bridge construction based on UDOT standards
• For senior inspector positions, supervise 3-4 people and document UDOT processes
• Exercise ethical decision-making regarding funds, resources and conduct
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Construction Inspector, (UDOT CTP Level IV) for our Utah office for projects based in Utah. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Read and interpret project plans and specifications
• Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
• Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
• Prepare daily work reports; prepare and maintain documentation of contractor work performed, materials testing and traffic control based on construction plans and specifications; using Masterworks, spreadsheets, and other electronic or manual means
• Inspect road and bridge construction (based on UDOT Standards)
• For senior inspector positions, ability to supervise 3-4 people and experience with UDOT documentation
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma and a minimum of 11 years of construction experience
• Experience on roadway construction projects
• Valid Utah driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bituminous Paving Experience
• Concrete Paving Experience
• Direct experience working for UDOT or another firm with UDOT exposure
• UDOT Masterworks Trained
• UDOT CTP Level IV
• ATTSA Traffic Control Certification, Sampling Reduction & Density (SRDTT), Moisture/Density Gauge Certification, ACI or CTT Concrete Certification or the ability to become certificated within 1 month of hire
