Job summary

3i, a general contractor and construction-management firm, seeks a Sr. Project Manager to oversee accounting operations tied to commercial projects. You will manage full-cycle accounting, project accounting, budgeting, cash flow, payroll, and internal controls.

The role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and requires strong leadership, autonomy, and collaboration with project teams to safeguard financial performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction or project-based environments.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with job costing, WIP, and intercompany accounting.
• Ability to prepare monthly statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Experience supporting audits and improving processes.
• Ability to train and guide accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, analyses, and variance explanations.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow projections; monitor vs. budget.
• Manage intercompany transactions and balances.
• Oversee project accounting, including job-cost monitoring and cost-to-complete.
• Review owner billings, subcontractor pay apps, and lien waivers.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, GL, payroll and cash receipts.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and contract requirements.
• Lead system implementations and process improvements (Sage, Procore, etc.).
