Job summary

O’Neil Construction seeks a Mid-Senior Level Estimator to lead estimating activities and mentor junior staff. The role covers preconstruction, budgeting, and cost strategy across hospitality, multifamily, commercial, healthcare, K-12 and higher education projects.

You will present budgets, lead design discussions, and influence decisions with real-time cost input while guiding the estimating team toward best practices. Bachelor’s degree and 5–10+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• 5 to 10+ years of construction estimating experience
• Experience preparing estimates from schematic design through design development documents
• Change-order management experience
• Knowledge of historical pricing and cost databases
• Experience leading stakeholder meetings
• Some Scheduling experience
• Estimating knowledge across all CSI trade divisions (M/E/P are pluses)
• Software proficiency: Timberline/Sage or similar estimating software
• Primavera 3/6 experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Estimating & Preconstruction
• Prepare construction estimates and take-offs for projects in Hospitality, Multifamily, Commercial, Healthcare, K-12, Higher Education
• Project Phase Management during Conceptual, Pre-Construction, Construction, Change Orders
• Lead and mentor estimators; establish best practices; influence department strategy and process improvement
• Present budgets to owners and design teams; lead cost strategy discussions; support pursuits and interviews; influence design decisions through cost input
