Job summary

Performance Contracting is seeking a Senior Estimator for its PCI Knoxville 144 operations based in Knoxville, TN. The role involves preparing RFPs, evaluating subcontractor quotes, developing customer relationships, and leading the estimating team.

Requirements include 5–7 years of estimating construction projects, 10+ years in the construction industry, and proficiency with Takeoff/estimating software. This position is safety-sensitive and not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience estimating construction projects
• 10+ years total construction industry experience
• Experience estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
• Ability to read specs and drawings for PCI scopes, materials, methods
• Strong customer relationship skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Detail-oriented with cost analysis skills
• Ability to read project schedules and determine sequencing/durations
• Proficiency with estimation software (Takeoff/estimating tools)
• Willingness to learn and expand product knowledge

Responsibilities

• Prepare RFPs for applicable scopes of work
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes and alignment with bid documents
• Develop relationships with local customers to support PCI objectives
• Work with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Attend pre-bid site walk-throughs
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and estimates
• Dissect projects into functional stages and review schedules
• Write detailed proposals and conduct bid reviews
• Prepare financial job cost analyses
• Source subcontractors, materials, and equipment and evaluate pricing
• Provide training and leadership to Estimating team
• Monitor business metrics and sales plans
• Participate in bid strategy meetings for major pursuits
