Qualifications

• / Degree in construction or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of the industry.
• / 8+ years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of bidding on and winning public projects.
• / Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and documents.
• / Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, and bid package preparation.
• / Familiarity with government bidding processes and regulations.
• / Experience with construction software (Redteam, MS Project, Excel, Smartsheets, Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
• Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting subcontractor bids, reviewing proposals, and preparing bid packages for submission.
• Conduct thorough cost analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing.
• Evaluate project risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and improve profitability.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documents in accordance with policies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to develop comprehensive bids.
• Demonstrate experience with public bid projects and compliance with regulations.
• Adhere to Employee Handbook guidelines and document expense reports weekly.
