Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Lenexa, KS team. The role focuses on developing conceptual and detailed estimates, preparing bid packages, and supporting preconstruction activities to keep projects on budget and schedule.

You will work with designers, subcontractors, and project managers, using OST, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, and Excel to deliver accurate cost data and compelling proposals. This is a contract-to-hire, onsite position in Lenexa.

Qualifications

• At least 7+ years of conceptual estimating experience within construction.
• Experience preparing conceptual and detailed estimates across multiple divisions.
• Proven bid development, coordination and post-bid analysis experience.
• Ability to learn and use estimating software platforms quickly.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual estimates, preliminary budgets, and detailed take-offs with the pre-construction team.
• Define bid package scopes and manage subcontractor and supplier bidding processes.
• Prepare and present detailed estimates to support decisions and alternatives.
• Maintain cost databases to ensure accurate pricing information.
• Collaborate with project managers to align schedules with client goals.
• Support marketing and business development with pricing and proposals.
• Coordinate bid day activities and assist in owner contracts preparation.
• Develop proficiency in bid solicitation programs such as iSqFt and ConstructConnect.
