Job summary

Laland Baptiste, LLC is seeking an experienced Estimator in Mineola, NY to develop cost estimates across pre-construction through closeout. You will perform takeoffs, review documents, and support value engineering to ensure accurate budgets.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years in construction estimating, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans, Timberline, and Excel. On-site position with extensive collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of direct construction estimating experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of NY market pricing and construction methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for educational, healthcare, commercial, and public projects.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimation using established CM methodologies.
• Assist in evaluating project delivery methods, constructability, and value engineering opportunities.
• Review drawings and specs to calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Assist in bid leveling, trade contractor pricing reviews, and subcontractor pricing validation.
• Analyze change orders and monitor budget variations during construction.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, CM team, and clients to align on budget and scope.
