Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents at a high level.
• Strong understanding of subcontractor trades and pricing structures.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret drawings and specs.
• Lead quantity takeoffs across CSI divisions.
• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates.
• Analyze scope, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Solicit and level subcontractor bids.
• Develop detailed scopes of work for subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during preconstruction.
• Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical project data.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve project margins.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and bid reviews when needed.
• Mentor junior estimators or coordinators.
