Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Construction Estimator to join our team in California. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for a wide range of projects including federal, state, government, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial sectors.

The role requires strong cost estimation expertise and a proven track record in industrial construction. As a permanent position, you will work on complex bids, coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams, and help drive cost control and tendering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a construction estimator.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, or government construction, hospitality, healthcare, industrial and other sectors.
• Proficient in cost estimation and industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with computer software estimating programs.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
• Professional certification in construction estimation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Conduct studies to establish standard hour and cost data and cost reductions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and foremen to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Prepare estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide make vs buy.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements for project duration.
• Maintain directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
• Establish tendering process and conduct negotiations.
