Job summary

Jostin Construction is seeking a General Construction Estimator in Cincinnati, full-time/salaried, reporting to the Vice President of Estimating. You will read plans, assemble cost data, and develop competitive bids across civil/site and building trades.

You will identify and prequalify subcontractors, solicit bids, and analyze factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and transportation to produce accurate estimates. Travel to jobsites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyze blueprints, technical construction, and architectural documents to prepare estimates.
• Identify qualified subcontractors and suppliers for bidding opportunities.
• Invite and obtain bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Quantify bid and project cost factors: materials, labor, time, equipment.
• Analyze alternatives to increase competitiveness and develop detailed cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Chief Estimator and project team to validate estimate accuracy and profitability.
• Attend bid openings and liaise with external partners.
• Assist in value engineering and risk assessment.
