Job summary

Qualifications

• A BA or BS in engineering or construction management; other degrees or equivalent experience may substitute at VP discretion.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a construction estimator, or equivalent role in the construction industry.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and travel locally.
• Proficiency with computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors, team members, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive estimating, take-off, and scheduling functions for diverse construction projects.
• Develop accurate preliminary budgets and detailed cost estimates based on project specifications and drawings.
• Create and manage preconstruction schedules.
• Define bid package scopes and manage the subcontractor/supplier bidding process; prequalify subcontractors and suppliers.
• Review drawings, specs, and construction documents to create accurate estimates; prepare proposals and contracts.
• Collaborate with other CS departments and staff to complete proposals, SOQs, bid packages, and estimates; attend site meetings to discuss scope with clients.
