Construction Recruitment Specialist in Data Center, Multi-Family, and Commercial Construction

Recruiter Overview: Our client, a reputable mid-sized general contractor and construction management firm in the NYC area, is actively seeking a Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team. The firm specializes in affordable and market-rate multifamily projects, including ground-up and rehab work, with a strong pipeline of both public and private sector projects.

This is a key leadership opportunity for an experienced estimator who wants to contribute meaningfully in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and documents to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates.
• Lead the full bid process, including take-offs, subcontractor outreach, and cost analysis.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure reliable pricing and coverage.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates across multiple phases of design.
• Present estimates and support value engineering strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and participate in proposal and bid reviews.
• Mentor junior estimators and help improve estimating processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of estimating experience with a GC/CM, especially in multifamily or public work (HPD, HDC, DASNY, NYCHA).
• Strong software skills: Bluebeam, Timberline, Procore, Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of current NYC market pricing and building codes preferred.
