Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to join our Farmington Hills team. You will oversee highway and bridge rehabilitation projects across Michigan, manage budgets and compliance, and mentor junior staff.

This full-time role requires a PE license in Michigan, 10+ years of MDOT/highway experience, and strong leadership. We offer a comprehensive package, hybrid schedules, and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan required.
• 10+ years of MDOT, heavy highway, and/or bridge construction experience.
• Experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer on road/bridge construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of transportation engineering from design through construction.
• Proven project management and budgeting skills.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions and mentor staff.

Responsabilités

• Oversee highway and bridge reconstruction projects and coordinate multiple initiatives.
• Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and specs.
• Lead pre-construction, progress, and public meetings; record minutes.
• Supervise engineers and technicians from pre-bid to close-out.
• Manage project pay estimates, changes, and work orders.
• Review work produced by field and office oversight teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior staff.
• Monitor budgets and communicate financial concerns promptly.
• Support business development and growth initiatives.
