Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to join our team and support large-scale commercial and mixed-use construction projects. The role covers estimating, cost reporting, and final accounting across complex developments.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, 3–5 years in cost management, and preferably RICS accreditation. On-site work in New York with competitive base salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a cost management role in the construction industry.
• RICS accredited or working towards it is valuable.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium or large sized construction projects, preferably commercial office, high-rise, mixed-use, headquarters, or major urban development projects.
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on strategies, assess proposals and bids, and manage vendor prequalification.
• Develop project estimates for construction, fees, direct work and other costs; review junior team estimates.
• Manage cost reporting with budgets, forecasts, risk register and client communications.
• Oversee cost control, payment assessments, change orders, entitlements, and dispute prevention.
• Oversee invoicing process and final accounting, post-contract audits and closeouts.
• Lead post-contract reviews and training material development.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
