Job summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure in Denver, CO, seeks a Cost Controls Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for large construction projects. This 3-day hybrid role requires strong analytical skills and cross‑functional collaboration with the finance team. Travel up to 10% is possible.

You will manage monthly closings, invoicing, and financial summaries, ensuring alignment between field progress and financial performance. Competitive compensation with bonus potential is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of cost control, accounting, or financial management experience in construction.
• Experience managing project cost controls for large-scale projects (> $500M).
• Expert in Excel and construction management software (Procore).
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration with finance and operations.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor budgets for all project costs and track monthly construction progress.
• Analyze spend curves and identify trends impacting schedule and performance.
• Monitor construction cost trends and provide insight and market context.
• Document historical cost data and lessons learned for future projects.
• Manage subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, change orders, and cost impact assessments.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors for timely financial inputs.
• Manage monthly closings and prepare executive summaries for leadership.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, project executives, and project managers to align financial and operational goals.
• Develop financial assumptions and refine processes in a growing company.
• Lead monthly invoicing and budgeting activities; reconcile forecasted cash flows vs actuals.
• Audit subcontractor invoices and reconcile costs with reimbursement structures.
• Build and maintain cash flow forecasts with subcontractors and construction managers.
