Job summary

The Conco Companies in Concord, California, seeks a senior accounting leader to head the company’s accounting function and collaborate with the CFO. The ideal candidate will have CPA preferred, 7–10 years in construction-focused accounting, and a proactive, team-building mindset.

Responsibilities include monthly closes, multi-entity reporting, policy development, cash flow management, and tax planning across corporate and real estate entities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA preferred.
• 7–10 years of accounting and tax experience in construction or with construction clients.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop teams across A/R, A/P, and GL; ensure timely monthly close.
• Own monthly financial reporting for multiple operating and real estate entities; provide analysis against budget.
• Research and document technical accounting matters under GAAP, including ASC 606 and depreciation.
• Review and revise accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and financial covenants.
