Ray Thomas, a top-ranked national law firm, seeks an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join its Office of General Counsel. The role offers visibility, competitive compensation, and advisory responsibility on conflicts and professional-responsibility matters.

The Attorney will evaluate conflicts involving new clients and matters, advise leadership, and implement ethical walls while staying current on ethics rules and risk management.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor required.
• 3+ years of relevant law-firm conflicts experience; 5 years preferred.
• Direct experience resolving conflicts—not only conducting database searches.
• Experience with new-business intake and lateral attorney conflicts.
• Strong Intapp experience required.
• Experience with conflict waivers and ethical walls.
• Ability to provide practical legal guidance to attorneys and firm leadership.
• Strong legal research, analytical, writing and issue-spotting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time-sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex conflicts involving new clients and matters.
• Review lateral attorney and lateral group conflicts.
• Evaluate prior representations, client relationships and adverse parties.
• Prepare legal analyses and conflict-resolution recommendations.
• Draft and review conflict waivers and engagement documentation.
• Advise attorneys and firm leadership on ethics and professional-responsibility issues.
• Recommend and assist with the implementation of ethical walls.
• Provide guidance to the firm’s conflicts team.
• Monitor developments in legal ethics and professional-responsibility rules.
