Job summary

ABA Search, Inc. is seeking a Senior Conflicts Analyst to join our international law firm client in a role spanning San Francisco, San Diego, or New York. You will review conflict reports, conduct research, and develop well-supported recommendations to ensure ethical compliance and smooth client intake.

The role involves collaborating with conflicts attorneys, managing risk, and advising on waivers and ethical walls. A four-year degree and 5+ years of conflicts experience are required.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of conflicts experience including issue identification, research, and resolution recommendations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research skills with attention to detail and timeliness.
• Knowledge of conflicts principles, risk management, and escalation of risk issues.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Review conflict reports to identify and analyze potential issues, including those involving lateral attorney and staff hires.
• Research entity affiliations and related information using commercial databases.
• Partner with attorneys to assess conflicting matters and develop well-supported resolution recommendations.
• Provide guidance on resolving conflicts issues in line with firm policy and direction from conflicts and general counsel.
• Document conflicts analyses and resolutions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing conflict waivers, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines.
• Implement ethical walls and escalation of complex or high-risk matters to conflicts counsel as appropriate.
• Participate in a shared coverage model, including availability outside standard business hours as needed.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives that improve service and efficiency across the firm.
