Job summary

Independent Software is seeking a Configuration Manager to support automation, integration, and management of software productivity and configuration management tools across projects.

You will work with engineering, infrastructure, and project teams to implement automated solutions, maintain tooling environments, and ensure secure, efficient operations aligned with mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline is required.
• Minimum ten years of combined experience as software engineer, systems engineer, or configuration management engineer is required.
• Minimum of six years as a Tools Engineer on programs/contracts of similar scope is required.

Responsibilities

• Support software productivity and configuration management tools across projects.
• Install, configure, upgrade enterprise tools and infrastructure.
• Administer ClearCase and ClearQuest environments; installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting.
• Develop automated solutions to improve project workflows, tracking, requirements management, and configuration management processes.
• Develop and maintain requirements repositories and support requirements management activities.
• Support and maintain project tracking tools, including JIRA and similar platforms.
• Develop scripts using Perl, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Maintain technical documentation related to software productivity tools, automation processes, and configuration management.
• Perform backup, recovery, and maintenance of tool databases and datasets.
• Monitor and manage tool licenses and media.
• Provide consulting and hands-on training to project personnel on tool use.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate tools into workflows.
