Job summary

Kes Inc. is seeking a Lead Configuration Management Specialist in San Diego to support configuration management, lab coordination, documentation, and team leadership within a DoD test, integration, and evaluation environment.

The role requires understanding of complex lab systems, asset deconfliction, and proactive risk management. You will lead cross-functional teams, maintain configuration records, and interface with government customers, program leadership, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized knowledge with DoD environment experience.
• Must have existing U.S. DoD security clearance/eligibility at final Secret level; U.S. citizenship required.
• Position located at a U.S. Government Facility

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day configuration management and lab operations coordination.
• Develop understanding of lab systems, assets, and priorities to support coordination and deconfliction.
• Maintain configuration control and documentation for lab assets and records.
• Coordinate across teams to resolve conflicts and track action items.
• Support Configuration Change Request development, tracking, and closure.
• Serve as primary contact between government customer, leadership, and team.
• Provide day-to-day team leadership and shift coverage planning.
• Identify risks and communicate impacts to leadership and teams.
• Support transition to BMC Helix scheduling and improve schedule visibility.
• Ensure lab access and security requirements are met.
