Job summary

Peraton seeks a Lead Configuration Management professional to supervise CM for mission-critical programs in our national security portfolio. You will guide baselines, documentation, and CM tooling across hardware, software, and systems.

In this senior role, you’ll mentor colleagues, coordinate with engineering and program management, and deliver executive reports on CM status and risks. TS/SCI eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Requires Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 12+ years with a BS/BA; 10+ years with MS/MA; 16 years relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• 4+ years of experience in configuration management, systems engineering support, or technical documentation control.
• Leading CM activities in secure/classified environments.
• Strong understanding of CM tools, version control, and item tracking.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced mission environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior CM advisor for assigned programs, guiding configuration control and baseline management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain CM plans, policies, and procedures per Peraton standards and customer needs.
• Oversee identification, documentation, and control of CIs across hardware, software, systems, and docs.
• Lead CM boards (CCBs), prepare agendas, manage change requests, document decisions.
• Maintain strict version control for accurate baselines of products and deliverables.
• Manage CM databases, repositories, and tools for proper tracking and auditability of CIs.
• Conduct configuration audits, discrepancy analyses, and compliance reviews; generate reports.
• Collaborate with Engineering, PM, Mission Assurance, and Operations to integrate CM requirements.
• Ensure all documentation and changes conform to standards within TS/SCI environments.
• Mentor junior CM personnel and share best practices.
• Prepare executive-level CM status, risk, and metric reports.
• Analyze product design changes for impact on design/function and prepare necessary documentation.
• Design and establish management documentation and build procedures for software products.
• Train developers on CM tools and software quality standards.
