Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to shape the MK1 Cargo Lander architecture and own the current baseline configuration across subsystems. You will lead cross-disciplinary trades, drive integration discipline, and mentor engineers while ensuring traceability and alignment with long-term roadmaps.

You will collaborate with Structures, Fluids, Thermal, GN&C, Avionics, and Manufacturing teams to balance performance, cost, and manufacturability, while maintaining

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related) with 10+ years of spacecraft/launch vehicle experience; or M.S. with 8+ years.
• Deep knowledge in vehicle structure, mechanical systems, or cryogenic upper stage design.
• Experience leading architecture- or vehicle-level trade studies.
• Configuration control experience on aerospace/launch vehicle products.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-disciplinary trades to define long-term MK1 Cargo Lander architecture.
• Own configuration management for current MK1 baseline across subsystems.
• Lead evaluations of ECRs and ensure traceability and integration integrity.
• Define interfaces and resolve cross-subsystem configuration conflicts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across teams.
