Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to support VA applications and lead the migration to the cloud from a remote location. The role emphasizes CM and release engineering across internal and COTS software, with a focus on building repeatable deployment processes.

Ideal candidates will have deep CM expertise, experience in regulated or federal environments, and strong scripting capabilities.

Qualifications

Proven track record delivering complex software builds and releases.
Experience in regulated or federal environments.
Deep expertise in configuration management and release engineering.
Broad knowledge across development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.
Experience with CM practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).
Experience with source control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion) and branching/merging strategies.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory).
Experience with scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, and Python).
Experience managing COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.
Experience with Infrastructure as code and environment management (Ansible and Terraform).
Knowledge of software quality standards, governance, and training developers on CM tools.

Responsibilities

Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software (internal and COTS).
Perform CM and release engineering tasks ensuring compliant, repeatable builds and deployments.
Design, develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools to improve software modeling and development.
Design and implement build procedures to support product development and use.
Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
Train software developers in CM tools and quality practices.
Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior analysts/engineers.
